Matron
Debbie Kirk
I have been the registered manager at Hatchmoor since January 2021. I qualified as a general adult nurse in 2010. Since qualifying I have gained a wealth of experience from being a ward manager in the NHS to being a nurse manager who thrived in troubleshooting homes to help get them compliant with CQC and to be a safe home for the residents. I am passionate about providing high quality care to residents. I believe that a care home should feel to residents like their own home and should be a home for life. Family and friends are always welcome and I ensure the team and myself support each resident individually in a kind and sympathetic manner. I was born in Scotland on a small Island called Isle of Arran. I then moved to Cornwall and worked there for 20 years. I moved to Devon and that is where I found Hatchmoor. In my spare time I enjoy walking my two dogs, looking after my horse and spending time with my family and friends.
Lead Nurse
Razvan Mirza
I’m a dedicated nurse with seven years of experience at Hatchmoor Nursing Home and one year of experience working in NHS in high-pressure MAU ward. I like nursing because I like to help people, I want to bring smiles to people’s face and to make a difference in people’s lives. At Hatchmoor I felt from the beginning that I belong there, as the management and the staff were very kind, friendly and supportive which made me feel like being in a warm family. Outside of work I love to spend time with my loving wife and my two boys. I like spending time on the sea side with my family on sunny days, I like to travel and visit new places and learn about new cultures and habits.
Lead Nurse
Jeena Elias
I am a dedicated and experienced nurse with 19 years of clinical practice across multi-specialty hospitals in India and Saudi Arabia. Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in a range of settings, including Medical-Surgical wards, Accident and Emergency, Labour and Delivery, Radiology, and Endoscopy. I have also held leadership responsibilities as a Ward In-Charge for 10 years, which has strengthened my clinical expertise, decision-making abilities, and leadership skills. These diverse roles have contributed significantly to my professional development, enabling me to adopt a comprehensive and patient-centred approach to care. I am deeply committed to delivering high-quality nursing care and take pride in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. Since 2022, I have been working at Hatchmoor Nursing Home, where I currently serve as the Lead Nurse for the Dementia suite. In this role, I lead a dedicated team focused on maintaining the highest standards of care. I am particularly passionate about dementia care, where promoting dignity, respect, and compassion is essential. I strongly advocate for person-centred care, ensuring that each resident’s individual needs, preferences, and life experiences are recognised and respected. Working within a supportive and collaborative team environment at Hatchmoor has been highly rewarding, and I remain committed to continuous improvement and excellence in care delivery. When I'm not working, I love spending time with family and friends. Cooking is a favorite pastime.
All of the care team at Hatchmoor regularly attend training to help increase their knowledge and we support the team by encouraging working towards recognised qualifications.
